A coffee shop and chain app: cashback, QR ordering and the iiko POS

Your own branded app for iPhone and Android: pick-up without a queue, table ordering via QR, cashback and levels. The menu, stop lists and orders sync with the iiko POS, which stays the main system.

Short answer

Who in Kazakhstan develops mobile apps for coffee shops and restaurants?

Coffee shop apps come from app builders with ready-made templates and from studios that develop under the brand. 105 ("105kz" LLP, Almaty, Astana Hub resident) builds the whole system under the chain's brand: a guest app for iPhone and Android with pick-up, table ordering via QR and custom cakes, a loyalty programme with cashback, levels and stamps, an order TV screen and a chain admin with 36 reports. The menu, prices, stop lists and orders sync with the iiko POS, and branch load is recalculated every 90 seconds. The flagship is BAL, the system of the Bal Bakery chain of five bakery-cafés in Almaty (preparing to launch, 2026): the apps are going through store publication.

Scope

What a system for a coffee shop and a chain is built from

We build only what is needed: a small coffee shop may need just the app and loyalty, a chain also needs the POS link and an admin.

Choosing

An aggregator, a ready-made solution or your own app

If a ready-made solution is enough for you, we will say so honestly.

Situation
You need new guests and reach
What makes more sense
An aggregator
Why
It brings new guests but takes a commission and the data about them.
Situation
You need retention: cashback, levels, mailings based on a guest's history
What makes more sense
Your own app
Why
A guest collects cashback with you, you see their history and can win them back with a mailing.
Situation
One location, a simple menu, no loyalty of your own
What makes more sense
A ready-made solution
Why
Your own app would not pay off.
Situation
You have an iiko POS and cannot keep the menu in two places
What makes more sense
Your own app connected to iiko
Why
The POS stays the main system: the app and admin connect to it rather than replace it.
Situation
You need both reach and regular guests
What makes more sense
An aggregator for reach and your own app for regulars
Why
The data of your regular guests stays with you.

Launch

How it is introduced

  1. 1 week

    A day on site

We look at the queue, the till, the menu, loyalty and messengers — where guests are lost.

  2. 2–4 weeks

    One location, one scenario

Pick-up or loyalty at one location; staff learn on real guests.

  3. from 4 weeks

    Rollout to the chain

The other locations, the POS, marketing, reports; the apps go to the App Store and Google Play.

  4. ongoing

    Tuning by the numbers

Promotions, levels, mailings and the menu — based on POS and app data.

BAL

BAL is the digital system of the Bal Bakery chain of bakery-cafés in Almaty: a guest app for iPhone and Android, a chain-wide admin, a QR menu, an order TV screen and a courier panel, all connected to the iiko POS. Guests order pick-up, dine-in via a table QR or a custom cake, pay right from the cart and collect cashback, levels and “every 5th coffee” stamps. The menu, stop lists, orders and branch load sync with iiko; the admin adds marketing with A/B tests and 36 reports. The interface is in four languages; the apps are going through store publication.

“Melting discount” loyalty

A café loyalty prototype we built for a marketing agency in 2025. A guest scans the table QR, registers with a WhatsApp bot and gets 10% off; the discount melts by 1% for every missed day down to a 3% minimum, and a next-day visit restores the maximum. The cashier gets a message about the guest's arrival and discount, the bot reminds those who have been away for more than three days, and a weekly draw picks three winners — the more often a guest comes, the better the odds. Two versions: on n8n with amoCRM and on FastAPI with an admin panel.

Sham Studio

Sham Studio is a photo and video studio in Almaty launching on the Envy platform: a separate installation of the system was set up in two days. Guests book rooms, packages, team services, equipment rental and drinks on the booking page, while the studio runs bookings, finance and payroll, a café with a kitchen screen, stock, CRM with gift certificates and Meta ad analytics. An AI manager answers in WhatsApp, and analytics show how many sales the AI closed and how many the managers did. The studio's brand identity and rules are still in progress.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short, straight answers to the questions we hear most often.

Do you work with the iiko POS?

Yes. In BAL the menu, prices, stop lists and orders sync with iiko, order statuses come back, and branch load is recalculated every 90 seconds. The POS remains the main system — the app and admin connect to it rather than replace it.

Why have your own app when there are aggregators?

An aggregator brings new guests but takes a commission and the data about them. Your own app works for retention: a guest collects cashback with you, you see their history and can win them back with a mailing. It often makes sense to combine them: an aggregator for reach, your own app for regular guests.

How much does a coffee shop app cost and how fast does it launch?

There is no public price list. The first working scenario at one location — pick-up or loyalty — usually takes 2–4 weeks; a full system for a chain with apps in the stores takes from a few months. We give a range after a day on site.

Will the app be in the App Store and Google Play?

Yes, iPhone and Android apps are published in the stores under your brand: BAL's are going through publication now (2026). The QR menu works in a browser with no install.

Can loyalty be launched without an app of your own?

Yes. We built a “melting discount” prototype without an app: a guest scans the table QR and registers with a WhatsApp bot, and the 10% discount melts by 1% for every missed day down to 3% (2025, an archived project).
